Question So is the new 27" iMac Retina (2015) still RAM-upgradable?
I am planning to buy a new 27" iMac Retina. My plan was to buy it with 16GB of RAM and then add 16GB more in after-market RAM.

As I interpret things, the 21" iMac Retina does not allow memory upgrades, but the 27" does. I'm assuming the 16GB from Apple is soldered but there are two empty slots...?

Just want to make sure I'm reading this right:

As far as we are aware, the new 27" retina iMac comes with two removable modules of 8 GB each. And since the new model can be fitted with up to 64 GB of memory (according to third party providers) that means the other bank is empty. We are all curious as to how much 16 GB modules would cost in order to max it out at 64 GB.
