Question iPhone 4S no longer charging
    Hello,

Starting this weekend, I have found myself unable to charge my iPhone 4S. I have tried multiple chargers, plugged into both outlets and my laptop, and the device will simply show that it must be plugged in, giving me an on-screen image of a depleted battery and a charging cord (also possibly worth noting that when plugged into my macbook pro, i receive a pop-up stating that a USB device is drawing too much power and have been disabled, a notice that I have never seen before and I do not get when plugging my ipod touch into the USB port).

The phone has been in a lifeproof case the entire time I have owned it, and there is no indication of water damage. I have also cleaned out the charging port. I've also tried to restore to factory settings, as I read that may solve the problem, but because the phone is dead, it just continues to flash the dead screen.

Any ideas as to what may be wrong with my phone and what I can do to make it charge again? I'm currently getting by on a limited college-student budget, so I'm trying to avoid buying a new phone.

    Thanks!

Dead battery. Apple will replace it for $70.00 or you can attempt to replace it yourself. However, it's not an easy task to do and you could damage your 4s in the process. www.ifixit.com has instructions.

I failed to mention that just before dying, I had plugged it in and it kept saying it would constantly vibrate and change between charging and not charging, which led me to believe it must be the charging port. Do you still think it is a battery problem?

Yes. If it's other than the battery, then you have a real problem and would be less expensive to just replace the phone. There are carriers who will "give" you a 4s as part of a plan and some will even give you a 5.
